THIS POST IS SPONSORED BY OUR TRUCK MOVING. ALL THOUGHTS AND OPINIONS ARE MY OWN.

IT’S BEEN 7 MONTHS SINCE WE’VE MOVED INTO OUR NEW HOME…..

and I can safely say we are all settled in!

Moving - not to mention, in the middle of a pandemic - was not something that was planned, nor were we looking forward to. This time around, I was determined to make this moving experience easier, more efficient, and of course, less stressful!

WANT TO SIMPLIFY YOUR MOVE? Here are some of my best tips to do just that!

FIRST THINGS FIRST: GET ORGANIZED

Getting organized is the best way to make sure your moving day is streamlined, and you will definitely be thanking yourself after when you’re unpacking.

Here are a few ways you can get organized for moving day

Put Together an Important Documents Folder

Having a folder where all of your family member’s social security cards, birth certificates, driver’s licenses, marriage certificates, school and doctor records, etc. are in one place can save you time and energy during and after your move - this includes quick reference documents you may need in the middle of your move! As items get packed into boxes and moved around the home, it’s hard to remember what item went into what box. Save yourself a headache and make sure all the important documents stay together!

Use a Moving Checklist

Making a game plan and then writing it down can help you ensure that nothing is forgotten in the hassle of moving. You can make your own easily - just make sure to create your timeline well in advance.

Label Your Boxes

Get your home items organized using a labeling system. Whether that means color coordinating tape or labeling what is in each of the boxes, make sure that you know what box goes in which room when it’s time to move into your new place.

Find Child Care

One important thing that will simplify your move so much (especially on the day-of!) is finding child care. MAMAS - you all know how hard it is to get anything done around the house on a normal day. Throw in a move, WITH KIDS, and you will be wishing for child care - so make sure you set it up! Child care isn’t only helpful on the day of - it will be great on the days when you are packing, as well. Utilizing child care for Elijah on move-in day and the days we did major packing was a huge life saver!

Change Your Address Ahead Of Time

One thing that always seems to get lost in the hustle of moving is notifying companies that you are moving!

A few things to remember are to:

-Fill out a change of address form with the post office and set up forwarding to your new address.

-Tell your utility providers when you’ll be vacating your current home, and get them to set up utilities in your new home so it’s ready on moving day.

-Get your WI-FI & Cable switched over to your new place

Find Fun Options Around Town

Find fun - and not so fun - options and places around the town before you move. This means everything from schools to after school activities, healthcare professionals, top restaurants. If you are moving to a new city or area of town, this will be extremely helpful!

If you’re moving soon, I hope these tips will help you simplify your move and make it as stress-free as possible!

XO,
